Sunday, June 20

We slept in. (Noticing the pattern :) ) Another rainy day. We were hoping to connect to the St. Luke's service but that didn't work out. We took the taxi to Caneel Bay and walked to Honeymoon Beach. Some ruins at Caneel. A few tourist boats out snorkeling. The water is shallow and in some places it was tough to work around it without damaging it. Another terrific batch of coral and fish and rays. It started to rain and then total downpour and we had to hustle out of the water when it started thundering and lightning. We took shelter in an old parks booth with a couple from Pennsylvania. The rain slowed finally so we started walking the trail to Cruz Bay to find it completely flooded. It was about a 30 minute walk in some light rain mixed with heavy rain while the path was mostly a stream. (We aren't sure if the couple headed the other direction survived the day or not!)

We changed back to dry clothes at the Visitor center in Cruz Bay and waited through another downpour. Fish, Shrimp and fries for lunch. Shopping at a nice little store where the lady noticed Becky was cold and gave her a t-shirt (we bought plenty afterward). A walk up to our favorite Starfish Market for supplies. A nice taxi driver who gave us a lift downtown to the taxi stand where we caught a ride back to Cinnamon Bay. Our stuff from yesterday is still wet. High humidity, no sunshine. We looked through our pictures and tested the rum!
