Well, we have been back from Honduras for almost two weeks now but it still doesn't seem like it. There seem to be plenty of work, activities, practices, to keep us busy. Here's a quick rundown:
Our visit to the Children of Love Foundation in La Paz was fantastic. You can read about our days and view all kinds of photos and videos on the blog at http://childrenoflovefoundation.blogspot.com/ We got to spend a lot of time with the children of the foundation. We did chores, read books, went swimming and just hung out. I spent time setting up computers and wireless networking so that the whole facility is 'tech ready'. The kids are now emailing regularly and are able to use Skype to talk to us. It is a pretty amazing thing considering the poverty of Honduras. Our biggest prayers are to help establish some good worship habits for this place and also to see them have a future. We just had a fundraising dinner Saturday night (Cuban food and music) which was a lot of fun and hopefully did raise a substantial amount of money.
On the home front, the kids have all been busy. Jacob is looking forward to graduation. He has picked the University of Florida for next year which is nice to have settled. He took Cassandra to the prom last night and then to Disney today so was a bit tired. There are a few pictures available at http://picasaweb.google.com/slehenbauer1 Graduation is Thursday, June 4th at 2:30 p.m. for all of you who are able to make it!
Natalie has been able to enjoy some time off here since basketball ended. She has been hanging out more with friends and just spending time enjoying herself. She can actually attend all the youth leadership meetings and youth group meetings without having to rush around so that has been nice. OLA hosted the Cornfest last weekend which was attended by about 1000 people. Local Christian bands perform, there is a softball tournament, bounce houses, and of course, all the corn on the cob you can eat for only $5. (I think I ate too much)
Anthony is getting better at golf. He enjoyed field day a week ago at school. This week was ITBS achievement tests so after 4 days of those, he was ready to hang it up.
Becky is getting ready to head to Sea Camp Wednesday so if you want to see how they are doing, head to http://seacamp08.blogspot.com
Well, time to go to bed. I pray that you all have a great week in Christ!
Steve, Becky, Jacob, Natalie, Anthony
